TAHBILK MARKS DECADE OF FESTIVAL SUPPORT
Tahbilk Winery is one of Nagambie’s most historic attractions, and has been a proud sponsor of the Nagambie on Water Festival for the past decade. The 2017 festival will be the 10th annual celebration to be held on Nagambie’s lake.
The history of Tahbilk and that of the Nagambie township are inseparable. The winery has been in operation for over 150 years, and in that time has refined their process of winemaking into a fine craft. Tahbilk is now offering this knowledge to budding vintners in a new tour, ‘The art of winemaking Experience’.
Bruce Minchinton, Cellar Door Operation Manager at the winery, boasts “this tour is beyond any conventional cellar door experience, and provides an advanced understanding of wine blending techniques”.
“The Art of Winemaking Experience is designed in two parts. Firstly, to give participants a theoretically advanced understanding of a wine’s flavour profile. In the second part of the tour, participants are given the opportunity to create their own wine blends, carefully guided by their wine ambassador” says Minchinton.
“This combination of theoretical and practical experience really puts you in the top 1% of wine knowledge. The tour is conducted in small groups to make sure everybody gets one on one treatment.”
Tahbilk’s advanced insight into the wine making process is complimented by the quality of their heritage vines, such as those first planted in Nagambie in the year 1860 which are still used today. The success of Tahbilk can largely be attributed to the natural assets of Nagambie, and to the community which makes the town the vibrant place that it is.
Minchinton remarked “for this reason, Tahbilk Winery is more than happy to support events such as the Nagambie on Water Festival which showcase the best of what the Nagambie community has to offer”.
“Tahbilk has been a sponsor of the Nagambie on Water Festival for ten years because we believe it’s a great opportunity to exhibit the diversity that Nagambie has to offer. Not only is it a great way to foster growth in the area through tourism, but there are also community building benefits. It’s an opportunity for the whole town to get together.”

The Royal Mail Hotel, or the Top Pub as it’s affectionately known, is an icon in the town of Nagambie. Well known among locals and visitors alike, The Royal Mail Hotel has a reputation for great pub food in a welcome and friendly environment.

Over the past century it has been more than just a hotel, also serving as Nagambie’s post office and general store.
Familiar faces Paul and Emilia have been managing the venue for just over two years and are known for providing classic, country-style hospitality. The hotel has undergone a major refurbishment during this time to restore and update the building’s amenities. Paul and Emilia also support many local community groups, conducting multiple fundraisers for charities and local sporting clubs.
On Saturday the 4th of March 2017, The Royal Mail Hotel will be hosting a special event ‘NOW at The Top’ in joint celebration the Nagambie on Water Festival 10th birthday weekend.
